Torin & Ksneia – Thompson, Manitoba sibling photography

I first met this brother and sister almost a year ago, and this session was my third time photographing them.  With few exceptions, each successive photo session is an improvement upon the last, especially with children. The kids are used to the “big” camera and studio lighting so they are more at ease,  and because I have a better feel for their personalities it makes it easier to zero in on capturing those images that I feel will best define them on that day.

It’s always a challenge to photograph toddlers, but Torin’s Mum, Debbie, had a great solution by providing some helium balloons as a prop.  Torin really enjoyed himself.  He soon was surrounded by the balloons and as you can see, his hair got very full of static!

This beautiful young lady is Torin’s big sister, Ksenia.

I am not sure if it’s the texture of the hat or the fact that Torin is completely unaware that I’m there (maybe both) but I love this image!

I’m quite fond of this one too- the flower did not want to stay in Ksenia’s hair put but we managed to keep it there just long enough for a few photos.

Some more images of Torin wearing the cute hat!

You’re never too old to play with balloons!  We distracted Torin just long enough to capture a few frames with Ksenia and the balloons.

Once again, thank you for having me back… I am already looking forward to your fall session!

Speaking of fall sessions, I have added a sidebar to the blog listing my on-location session availability (sessions that are anywhere other than Winnipeg.)  If a date is listed, that means there is still space available, although that might mean there is just one spot left.  It’s never too early too book – so yes, even though there is still snow on the ground, it is worth thinking ahead about fall photographs!   I will be traveling for a few weddings this summer and fall, and I have a few sessions available during my trips to Halifax, Vancouver, Moncton and Norway House, in addition to those already planned for Thompson.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Janet
